Bach or Ludwig Van Beethoven with the electronic warmth of Richard James or Global Communication's more ambient work, Ulrich Schnauss has created a bit of a minor masterpiece with this six track album of unprecedented beauty.
One of the things that's so immediate is that Schnauss's creations ebb and flow without a single glitch or DSP effect in sight. The production here harkens back to the pre-glitch days of IDM or experimental electronica; a time when people composed tracks rather than simply tweaked them. Still - it would be folly to say that this is dancefloor friendy. The beats here are pretty thin on the ground, and while they offer just enough quantization and swing to give just the right amount of momentum, they simply pale in comparison to the lush orchestrations and tonality of the melodies. Schnauss it seems, it simply incapable of writing ugly songs.
NB. IDM = Intelligent Dance Music

What else can I say? Buy, it download or whatever. Your life will not be complete until you hear this. The song Nobody's Home is extra good, so good it gave me chills down my spine... I really would like to buy it, this is actually one of the few CD's I would be willing to spend money on, but I don't know where to get a copy. It's released on a relatively obscure label, and I've had a hard time finding it.
In conclusion, Ulrich Schnauss kicks ass.

The Lemon

What a poor excuse of a website.

Yes, I have finished Angela's Ashes, quite awhile ago actually. There was this guy being beaten up by a gang of youths. I think this came from the court transcripts i was reading, in particular, this one about a gang retaliation that ended up with a murder. Anyway, so this guy was being beaten by broom handles. Not just one person hitting him, but like a whole gang of kids was taken their turn smacking him with the sticks. There was also stomping, kicking, punching, and he was lying on the ground all bandaged up, and bleeding. Why did he have bandages? I dunno, it was a dream. Man. The weirdest thing was one of the "assaults". The gang had somehow procured some of the victim's presents, birthday presents to be precise. So they got the toys, and put them under his head and made him crush his own presents, with his head. And this was apparently the worst punishment of all, since the guy seemed to hate it most. Very strange.

I can't be bothered writing anything lately. In it, it said that human males' testicles are larger than those of a gorilla, but smaller than those of a chimpanzee. The reason, the show explained, was that the gorilla had a harem of females that are his own, so he doesn't need a lot of sperm at the ready. On the other hand, female chimpanzees aren't faithful at all, so the male chimps have to ejaculate as much as possible, into as many females as possible, to give their sperm the best chance of creating a baby. That's why they have huge testicles. Cuts to a shot of huge chimp testicles. It then goes on to say that in the case of humans, females aren't very promiscuous, but they aren't entirely faithful either, which is why human males have testicles that are somewhere between the size of a gorillas, and a chimpanzees.

Then there was the story about a guy who, while his girlfriend was sleeping, read her text messages on her mobile phone. To his surprise, they were sexually provocative and sent by their next door neighbour who was away on holiday. So, with his anger aroused, this guy gets out his chainsaw, and cuts through his neighbour's garage door and demolishes the neighbour's limited edition Jaguar. Also, CBS has some pretty good shows on Thursday.

Q: What is the blonde doing when she holds her hands tightly over her ears?
A: Shielding her ears from a loud, piercing noise, probably.

Q: Why don't blondes have elevator jobs?
A: Because there aren't very many elevator jobs around anymore these days. Mr Li's wife answered the door and had fetched her husband to take the package.

But when he opened the security door he was wrenched onto the path by the men who both brandished pistols. The men screamed abuse and swore at the couple as they forced Mr Li to swallow the acid which also contained another poisonous chemical.

This is so fucking evil. I don't know if it's just me, but I thought the way the crowd surrounding the stage were acting seemed a little contrived. How crazy can you get for Shania Twain anyway? Maybe they're all Shania fans, I don't know... And then her mechanical podium crane thingo was sorta funny.
I don't know if all NFL games are like this, but it seems like there's more entertainment than actual football. Perhaps since Superbowl is such a special occasion, then a fireworks display, or four, is warranted. Also, there's about a zillion people standing by the sidelines. It's all so different to rugby league.
One more thing, the ref looks funny when he makes his little announcements, because there's a huge delay from when he says something until you actually hear it.
In conclusion, I'd rather watch tennis.

Waking Life - great "thinking" movie! I loved how they included the concept of lucid dreaming, and the whole reality testing thing. The philosophical monologues do go on for a long time, but they were interesting enough to keep my interest piqued. And the opening scene was great, two kids playing with one of those foldy paper thingo's.

You know, the folded paper thingos you make, where you stick your fingers in the holes, and you say, "Choose a number". There’s a three-second interval where he’s thinking, “Hey, he said he was going to count to five,” and that is all you need to make your getaway.
Drawback: You will be known as a pussy if there’s even a remote possibility you could have won.

sdrawkcab is backwards backwards.

People who type rawr seem to exhibit reverse anthropomorphic tendencies.

Amazon.co.uk: At a glance: Breakdown: The Very Best Euphoric Chillout Mixes

Ah yes, euphoric chillout mixes of great trance songs, the exact niche music genre I want to hear more of. Boohoo. What a difference it makes when I use correct capitalisation. Maybe this should be a permanent thing, since many people find it annoying when I don't use capitals.

Today as I was walking to the station, I heard this yelling coming from a house. A mixed race couple and their child were walking away from the house, where an old lady stood on the front porch, screaming angrily at them. As I walked by, the guy said to me, "Watch out, she's crazy". So from that little encounter, I will automatically assume that the old lady was not happy with her daughter marrying and procreating with a person that was not also from a similar ethnic background. Remember this is just pure speculation. I'm guessing the couple just wanted their son/daughter (I didn't notice what it was) to visit his/her grandparents, but instead of a warm welcome, they were given the cold shoulder. Or I could be totally wrong about everything. I'll never know.
<img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/4045530-87412983?l=sparklemotion.blogspot.com' alt='' "The public has gone wild for our revolutionary three-dimensional chips, which, in addition to the usual length and width, also possess depth," Frito-Lay spokesman Isaac Toomer said. "So wild, in fact, they have lost interest in traditional monoplanar snack chips." Toomer said Frito-Lay is now developing a highly theoretical "Funyuns 4-D." "One day, people everywhere will enjoy crispy, extratemporal Funyuns that intersect with an infinite number of parallel universes," Toomer said. type='text'>

With his newfound courage, Cecil politely asked the girl for a cigarette. She looked at him, with a puzzled look that said, "Why are you talking to me?” Quickly, her face metamorphosed into what one would think was sincerely friendly, but in fact was merely a facade in order to convince others of her true sociable nature. Reaching into her <strike>beige designer</strike> purse, she removed a pack of Marlboro Light's. Showing the world how much she could trust a stranger, she passed the box to Cecil, who was now entrusted with one of her possessions. Flicking back the lid, he pulled out one of the <strike>white tipped</strike> cigarettes and took out the lighter which was kept amongst them^. He lifted it up to his mouth and held his hand around the tip to shield the compressed butane flame from the wind. He thanked the gracious stranger as he returned the box to her. Drawing short wisps of smoke into his lungs, he stood in the doorway of the closed Chinese restaurant. The traffic lights had stopped the cars, and for just a moment everything was silent. In this small window of opportunity, he could hear the gentle crackling of the tobacco as it combusted in the soft, red, ashy glow. It gave him an idyllic whim of being out camping, sitting around a warm log fire under a cloudless and starry night, roasting marshmallows^. The 6-cylinder roar of a metallic silver Mercedes Benz as it took off quickly jerked him back into the dreary dullness of the inner city.

^ these sentences sound fucked

what do you think? leave a message on the tag-board...

so i printed out all these signs that say "am i dreaming" and stuck them around my room. the idea is, that i will be so used to seeing them, i may actually see the signs in my dreams. then, in my dream, i will ask myself, "am i dreaming?". to which the answer will be, "yes". and WHAM, i'm lucid dreaming. or at least that's how i think it works...

and another thing, i should do a lot of reality testing />Heartless killer shoots koala
Date: December 24 2002

Wildlife officers are calling for public help after a koala was found shot dead in the north west of Sydney.
The body of the female koala was found in the backyard of a home in Colo Heights last Friday and was retrieved by the RSPCA, the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS).
An examination showed the animal had been shot in the chest.
NPWS spokeswoman Samantha Mattila said she was sickened by the koala's killing, especially as the tiny Hawkesbury colony was struggling to survive.
"We're talking about only a handful in that region," she said.
"We actually thought that the population had died out in the Hawkesbury area and only recently we found two koalas there.
"To find one shot dead is tragic."
Under the National Parks and Wildlife Act, the killer faces up to six months in jail and/or a $3,300 fine.
"I have no idea what would compel someone to do something like that or what kind of person would want to do something like that," Ms Mattila said.
"The main thing we're concerned about is catching the perpetrators of this nasty crime."
Anyone with information should contact NPWS on (02) 4588 2400 or the RSPCA on (02) 9709 5433. <br
